Starting and Connecting mvTerm

You have three options for starting and connecting mvTerm client sessions.

You may start the mvTerm client via a shortcut that you have defined on your Windows Desktop. See Setting up mvTerm on Windows for information about setting up such a shortcut.
You may launch an mvTerm client session via the Windows Task bar (Start > All Programs > Rocket Software > mvBase > mvTerm), then connect the client manually from within the mvTerm session.
You may start and connect an mvTerm client session by opening a previously saved session file.

When opening an mvTerm session, the properties that affect that new session are determined by the following:

When opening a new mvTerm session by the New option in the Session drop-down menu, properties are derived from the currently active mvTerm session.
When opening a new mvTerm session by the New option in the Session drop-down menu and a default.vtm file exists in the directory containing the mvTerm executable (for example, mvTerm.exe), you obtain the properties from the default.vtm file in the new mvTerm session.
When opening a previously-saved mvTerm configuration file (a .vtm file), you obtain previously-saved properties in the new mvTerm session.
