When adding a File DSN, the default behavior requires a successful connection to the ODBC server. Without a successful connection, the data source information will not be saved. If the ODBC server is not available when the File DSN is being created, then the Advanced tab must be utilized. Depending on the status of your D3 ODBC Server, running or not running, follow the appropriate set of instructions.
