Transaction Logging

By continuously backing up the system, transaction logging provides system security beyond that which is provided by standard backup methods.

BUILD-LOCK-XREF

Creates items in the FILE-XREF file that define the files to be logged during Update Logging.

COUNT-TRANS

Lists the number of update logging transactions in the queue that are waiting to be dequeued.

TLOG-BUFFERS

Displays the amount of overflow in use by transaction buffers.

TLOG-CLEAR

Clears the Update Logging queue.

TLOG-DEQUEUE

Starts a transaction logging process.

TLOG-DQ

Starts transaction logging (synonym for TLOG-DEQUEUE).

TLOG-MONITOR

Displays the status of the transaction logger with updates every specified number of seconds.

TLOG-RESTORE

Restores transactions from backup medium to disk.

TLOG-RESUME

Restarts a suspended transaction logging process.

TLOG-STATUS

Displays the status of the transaction logger.

TLOG-STOP

Ends the current transaction logging process.

TLOG-SUSPEND

Stops a transaction logging session and temporarily suspends a transaction logging process.

:ULOG-ON

Starts update logging.

:ULOG-OFF

Stops update logging.

ULOG-SKIP

Specifies the files listed in the FILE-XREF file whose updates are not to be logged.
