Stopping the Server via the Windows Task Bar

NOTE

Stopping the Server via the :SHUTDOWN Proc is preferable to stopping the Server via the Server tab or via the Windows Task bar. Whenever possible, stop the mvBase Server (of any release) via the :SHUTDOWN Proc.

Perform these steps to stop the mvBase Server from the Windows Task bar:

  1. Ensure that all clients are disconnected (e.g., issue the LISTLINES command at TCL).

  2. If your mouse is configured with conventional functions, click the mvServer icon in the Windows Task bar with the right mouse button.

  3. A popup window displays available Windows commands.

  4. Select Close, or select the ALT+F4 keys. The mvBase Server shuts down.

  5. NOTE

This manner of shutdown is available to most Windows-based applications, including the Administration Utility, the mvBase Workstation and the mvTerm client.
