Restoring Files and Accounts

File restoration is the process of copying information from backup media to the disk drive. This discussion refers generically to backup media, a term comprising all logical tape units (physical tape devices and floppy disk drives, and virtual tape files or devices), and addresses differences in how various media are used only when differences are found.

Using the procedures described in this section, you can restore the complete database, one account, or even specified items in a file. This section contains the following topics:
