File and Account Management

Creating new accounts and deleting accounts are two tasks a system administrator will regularly perform using these commands.

ACCOUNT-RESTORE

Restores one account from tape.

ACCOUNT-SAVE

Saves one account from tape.

ADD-ACCOUNTS

Restores accounts present on tape that are not on disk.

CREATE-ACCOUNT

A program that creates accounts, defines retrieval and update lock codes for them, defines system privilege levels, and allows a password to be defined for the account.

DELETE-ACCOUNT

A program that deletes an account and all of its files.

PASSWORD

Creates, changes and deletes account passwords.

These commands relate to file management.

:FILELOAD

Fully restores the data area from tape.

FILE-SAVE

Saves the entire data area to tape.

INCR-SAVE

Saves changes made to files since the last full backup.

INIT-CURSOR

Initializes pointers to the CURSOR file.

LIST-FILE-STATS

Lists the contents of the File Statistics Report.

RESTORE

Restores dictionaries, accounts and files.

SEL-RESTORE

Restores selected items in a file.
