The ADD-ACCOUNTS Proc restores all accounts that are present on a FILE-SAVE or ACCOUNT-SAVE backup medium but not on disk.
Format
ADD-ACCOUNTS |
Description
Use ADD-ACCOUNTS instead of ACCOUNT-RESTORE when you want to restore multiple accounts. (ACCOUNT-RESTORE restores only one account.)
For example, use ADD-ACCOUNTS to restore the data area after a new operating system has been installed. When a new operating system is installed, a new set of SYSTEM files is installed with it. If you then performed a full file-restore, the new SYSTEM files would be overwritten by the old ones. By using ADD-ACCOUNTS, you can, in effect, perform a full file-restore without overwriting the new SYSTEM files.
If an ACCOUNT-SAVE backup medium containing several accounts is used, ADD-ACCOUNTS restores only the first account on the backup medium that does not already exist on the system.
When using ADD-ACCOUNTS, all files that specify a reallocation modulo in Attribute 13 of their File Definition items are resized. Group update flags are not set. File names display on the screen as the files are restored.
