As of FlashConnect 3.5, you can upgrade existing FlashConnect accounts with ease.
To upgrade an existing version of FlashConnect:
Back up the WWW account files.
Remove all FlashConnect commands from your user item and the login macro in the dm account (these can be restored after the upgrade).
Log off FlashConnect.
Log on to the dm account.
CAUTION |
Do not execute any FlashConnect commands from previous releases. (Executing a previous release FlashConnect command establishes a named common space different in size from the FlashConnect 3.8 named common space, causing the upgrade process to abort. Logging off prevents the abort because it discards the named common space. |
Restore the new WWW account from the product CD using a unique name, such as www.new (browse to the appropriate database and platform).
(D3 only) Follow the instructions in Installing D3 Components, then return to these instructions to complete the remaining steps.
(mvBase only) Follow the instructions in Installing mvBase Components, then return to these instructions to complete the remaining steps.
In the new WWW account, type:
RUN BP UPGRADE |
A prompt for the existing FlashConnect master account to upgrade displays.
Type in the account name and press ENTER. The master WWW account and all FlashConnect enabled accounts are upgraded.
Integrate any previous changes into the new wbp items, (WWW-IRUN and WWW-CONTINUE).
NOTE |
Any programs that include w3Include must be recompiled after the upgrade. |
