The Record Locks dialog box enables you to list and clear record locks on a particular server.
To list or clear record locks:
Select Record Locks from the Record Locks menu.
The Record Locks dialog box displays.
Enter the server name in the Server text box or click Browse to select a different server. Note that the current server is selected by default.
Click the Display button.
Below is a description of the information that displays in the Record Locks dialog box.
File Name/File Number |
Database, Dictionary table and Data Level table in which the locked file resides. |
Record Id |
Record Id of the locked item. |
Computer |
Computer name where the locked record is located. |
Client |
Computer name of the client. |
Type |
Lock Type. |
(0xtttttttt) or PIB |
Thread-ID, in hexadecimal, of the thread that owns the lock. If the client thread is a VME thread, the PIB number replaces the thread-ID. |
Level |
Lock owner’s push-level number. |
Token |
Unique identifier for the locked item. |
TransName |
Transaction name. |
TransId |
Transaction ID. |
RMID |

To clear locks, do one of the following:
To clear a specific lock, select the lock to clear from the Record locks list and click the Clear Lock button.
To clear all locks, click the Clear All Locks button.

Clearing record locks may create database inconsistencies and should be done only with extreme care. |
