The structure of the item and the attributes within is determined by knowing that each:
separate piece of information within an item is an attribute.
attribute must be defined by an attribute-defining item.
Creating a series of attribute-defining items to specify a data section of the file is where the data is actually stored. The data can be internally organized in one of several ways, but the process is transparent to the user. The item is returned to the user as a series of attribute values.
The information in the dictionary section associates the attribute number to its attribute name. There must be at least one attribute-defining item for each attribute.
