Installing D3 Windows

This section provides instructions to install D3 Windows 10.2 Server and Client.

If you are upgrading from a previous release of D3 Windows, please review Upgrading before continuing:

You can install D3 Windows as a Server or as a Client. Both the Server and Client offer Typical and Custom installations. See Installation options to determine which setup is right for you.

  1. Installing the D3 Windows Server
    Complete these instructions to install and activate the D3 Windows Server.
  2. Upgrading the data set
    If upgrading from an earlier D3 release 9.2.0 or later, after the installation completes, follow the instructions below to upgrade the data set. This is not necessary for new installations.
  3. Installing the D3 Windows Client
    Complete these instructions to install and activate the D3 Windows Client.
  4. Activating D3
    If you chose not to activate D3 during the installation process, you can perform the activation using these instructions.
  5. Deactivating D3
    If you should ever need to move your D3 Server to a different machine, you will need to deactivate the D3 Server on the current machine.
  6. Starting the D3 Windows Server
    After installation, the D3 Windows Server starts automatically. However, should you ever need to start the server manually, follow these instructions:

    You can change the D3 Windows program features that are installed.
  8. Uninstalling D3 Windows
    To uninstall D3 Windows, remove the D3 Windows Server or Client from your system using the instructions below.
