Adding VME Com PIB assignments

Complete the following instructions to add a VME Com PIB assignment.

1. Open the D3 Device Manager and select the PIB Configurations tab.
2. Click the Add Com button.

   The VME Com Ports dialog box displays.

   
3. Define the new VME Com port. The table below describes the various configuration values of the VME Com Ports dialog box.

   Value	Description
   PIB Number	PIB number assigned to the device.
   Com Port	Name of the Com port device. For example, COM1.
   Baud Rate	The Baud rate. The default is 9600.
   Parity	Specifies the parity. Parity options are Even, Odd, None, Mark and Space.
   Data Bits	Number of bits per characters.
   Stop Bits	Number of stop bits. Valid numbers are 1, 1.5 and  2.
   Display Message	Specifies the message to display when the VME is initialized. Each comma-delimited field displays on a new line (two commas without any text skips a line).

4. Click OK.

   The Com PIB is assigned and displays in the VME PIB Assignments list.
