Seeking Experienced Technical Support Engineer
Rocket U2 is seeking an experienced UniVerse extended relational database Technical Support Engineer. The role includes resolving client questions and problems with installation, setup, configuration and functionality of UniVerse and additional U2 products – UniData, System Builder - SB/XA andU2 Web DE (RedBack).
Responsibilities include:
- Performing problem verification by isolating and replicating steps to produce the problem
- Maintaining case tracking details to required standard
- Working with Level 2 and Level 3 support engineers on critical issues
- Developing areas of expertise with Rocket Software U2 products
- Teaming and assisting other support engineers
- Writing collateral – technical tips, white papers, example programs
- Participating in internal projects and other work as directed.
- Some weekend and holiday work required
Demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes in the following areas are highly desired:
- U2 database, tools, and common middleware
- U2 basic programming
- Unix and Linux
- Object oriented programming (C#, JAVA, VB.NET)
- XML and SOAP
- Relational and multi-value (extended relational database technology)
- Windows operating systems administration
- Knowledge of networks and network security
- Web server administration
- Broad knowledge of computer technology
- Technical certifications are preferred
- Problem solving / technical diagnosis - ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Strong written and oral communications
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Ability to create project plans, manage to-do lists
- Positive attitude and approach to work
- Reliable, proactive, diligent, and sense of humor
