Starting from Windows services

Complete these instructions to start OpenDB running in the background.

Note: For instructions on starting OpenDB in the foreground, see Starting from the command prompt.

Procedure

Select Start → Control Panel → Administrative Tools. Then double-click Services.
The Services dialog box displays.
(Optional) Do one of the following:
- Accept the default port (3458):
- Select OpenDB, right-click, and then select Start.
- Enter new Startup Parameters for the TCP/IP port.
  
  Note: Right-click and select Properties. Then, enter the new Startup Parameters. For example, type /port 5800.
Select OPENDB and click Start.
