The mvTerm client may be set up on Windows. The mvTerm client setup entails:
Sharing mvTerm client files across the network
Setting up shortcuts on any remote systems which are to use the mvTerm client
The mvBase client files should be located only in the mvBase Server system’s installed wstation directory. When using shortcuts for the mvTerm client, set up shortcuts on other remote systems rather than on the Server system.
Perform these steps to set up the mvTerm client on Windows:
On the mvBase Server system, share this directory:
mvBase-installed directory\wstation
On each system running the mvBase client, set up a connection to the shared directory on the mvBase Server (shared in step 1).
On each system running the mvBase client, create a new mvBase directory and folder.
Within each new mvBase folder set up in step 3, create a shortcut to the MVTERMEXE program file, located in this Windows path:
\\Server\mvBase-installed directory\wstation\ MVTERM.EXE
While in Windows Explorer, click the MVTERMEXE file with the right mouse button, and select Create Shortcut. A new shortcut displays in the same directory.
Move the newly created icon to your desktop. It will likely become larger when moved from Windows Explorer to the Desktop, and appear similar to the following icon.
You may change the shortcut name if desired. With Windows default settings for the mouse, click the icon once, wait a moment, then click the icon again. The text becomes highlighted, and you may retype a new name.
Select the mvTerm shortcut icon to start the mvTerm client.
