Once the Windows operating system and mvBase have been installed, the mvBase Server may be configured to start either automatically or manually. Available options differ according to which execution mode (application or service) in which the Server will execute.
NOTE |
All modifications to the initial installation must be made from an account with full administrator rights. |
Automatic startup:
The autoboot flag on the Server tab must be selected for automatic startup. When the mvBase Server is run as a service the Server can be started automatically whenever Windows is (re)booted. Note that the Windows service is set to manual by default. The Server does not start automatically unless the service is changed to auto via the Windows Control Panel.
When the mvBase Server is run as an application, the Server starts automatically only when it is in the Windows startup group when the user logs on.
Manual startup:
Manual startup of the Server as either an application or service is performed from the Server tab of the Administration Utility. To run the Server as a service, the service option must first be installed via the Install button.
The mvBase Server may be started (if not already running) at any time from the Windows Task bar and selecting either of these two options:
Double-clicking on the Server icon to start the Server application.
Double-clicking on the mvBase Administration Utility to start the Server application or service.
