Connecting the mvBase Workstation

Connect the Workstation to the mvBase Server after you have started both the Server and the Workstation. Perform these steps to connect the Workstation to the Server.

Perform these steps to connect the Workstation to an mvBase Server:

  1. Launch or switch to the Administration Utility.

  2. Ensure that both the mvBase Server and Workstation are started.

  3. In the Workstation tab, enter the network name of the mvBase Server system to which you want to connect in the Workstation field.

  4. Select Connect. A confirmation message appears.

  5. Select OK in the confirmation message. The Workstation tab displays for the system to which you have just connected, allowing you to remotely perform the mvBase Administration Utility functions (for the Workstation Service Only) from your system.

  6. Client connections remain available as long as both the Server and Workstation continue to run. Note, however, that multiple sessions or instances of Telnet clients could potentially consume all available mvBase lines. This only occurs if one or more (configured) mvTelnet Servers allows for this situation (by defining too few lines). Multiple sessions or instances of the mvTerm client may also affect line availability to clients connecting via the Workstation.
