When used in combination with certain commands, some of the formatting modifiers described in this topic function differently. Such differences occur in these areas:
The HDR-SUPP, HEADING, and ID-SUPP modifiers work differently with the T-DUMP and S-DUMP commands. HDR-SUPP and HEADING affect the creation of the backup medium label, and ID-SUPP suppresses the listing of item-IDs on the screen as items are copied to a backup medium.
The ID-SUPP modifier works differently with the REFORMAT and SREFORMAT commands, determining what the item-IDs will be in the new file.
When used with one of the four forms generation commands (FORMS, SFORMS, REPT, SREPT), the BREAK-ON, TOTAL, and GRAND-TOTAL modifiers have a more specialized role. In addition, the HEADING and FOOTING modifiers function in a more limited way, and the ID-SUPP modifier is superfluous.
The preceding functions are described fully in Using INFO/ACCESS Commands for Special Processing and Generating Forms with INFO/ACCESS.
