If your terminal seems to stop while processing (i.e., it "hangs") attempt the following measures to solve the issue:
Be sure the cable between the terminal and the system is secure.
Be sure the system is still on; check with other users.
Hold CTRL down and type Q or B. If output to the terminal has been suspended with CTRL+S, the CTRL+Q sequence will cause the output to resume. The CTRL+B sequence will unlock the keyboard if it was locked by the operator or the system. Note that the keyboard is locked by pressing CTRL+D.
Press CTRL+BREAK. If an ! or an * appears on the screen, type G or END and press ENTER. The G command will attempt to continue the hung process and the END command will return you to TCL.
NOTE |
Certain processors, such as the CREATE-FILE processor, inhibit the CTRL+BREAK key sequence while they are running. |
Turn the terminal off, wait a moment and then turn it on again. If an ! or an * appears on the screen, type G or END and press ENTER. The G command will attempt to continue the hung process and the END command will return you to TCL.
Call your system supplier for assistance.
NOTE |
If you turn the terminal off and on again, the screen messages will be lost. |
