Installing FlashConnect

Complete the instructions below to install FlashConnect on Windows.

To install FlashConnect:

Note: If upgrading, seeUpgrading FlashConnect before proceeding.

Log on to Windows as an Administrator (or a user with administrative privileges).
Download the FlashConnect installer from the Rocket Customer Portal.
Double-click the downloaded .exe file to begin the installation.
The FlashConnect - InstallShield Wizard displays.
Click Next.
The License Agreement dialog box displays.
Review the License Agreement and select the I accept option to accept the terms of the agreement.
The Destination Folder dialog box displays.
Click Next to select the default installation directory (C:\Program Files(x86)\RocketSoftware\FlashConnect\) or click Change if you want to select a different directory.
The Setup Type dialog box displays.
Click Next.
The Ready to Install the Program dialog box displays.
Click Install.
The FlashConnect files are installed.

Note:

To allow browser access to FlashConnect, copy fccgi.exe and fcisapi.dll from the FlashConnect installation directory to the Web server’s cgi-bin directory.
To use the examples, the Web server needs access to the information provided in the WebContent folder provided with FlashConnect. Create a virtual directory called w3library to point to the WebContent directory to allow the browser access to this information.
