Because FCService needs access to certain files on the system, the following file permissions are recommended:
Read, write, and execute permission to the directories containing the fcsocketserver and FCService files.
Read permission to the FlashConnect.conf file (users must also have write permission to manually update this file).
Execute permission to the FCService application file.
Read, write, and delete permission to the /tmp directory for creating named pipes in /tmp.
File Permission Alternatives
Specify another file name for the configuration file (/etc/FlashConnect.conf) when FCService is started.
If write access to the /etc and /usr/bin directories is not available, specify alternative directories during the installation. See the FlashConnect Administrator’s Guide for more information about FlashConnect.conf file options.
NOTE |
There are no alternatives for read, write, and delete permissions to the /tmp directory. |
