The System Dictionary, mds file, defines where all the accounts reside. There is only one system dictionary. The system dictionary can contain:
File-defining items (accounts)
Attribute-defining items
Attribute substitute items
Attribute-suppressing items
Synonym items (account Q-pointers)
Connectives
Macros
Menus
Update Processor prestore items
The System Dictionary is accessible only from the dm account.
