Upgrading the Data Set

If upgrading from an earlier D3 release, after the installation completes, follow the instructions below to upgrade the data set. This is not necessary for new installations.

WARNING

During the nt_upgrade procedure, when compiling some utilities in FSI:DM,BP, it is possible to get the error:

If this occurs, type Q to quit the upgrade. At TCL, type the commands below and then and restart the nt_upgrade procedure.

To upgrade the data set:

Start a telnet session.

CAUTION

At least 16 MB of overflow should be available.

Press any key to get to the logon prompt.
Log on to the dm account as user dm.
Type at TCL:

NOTE	System processors and printers may not be started if SYSTEM-COLDSTART is not re-run.

NOTE	If you are upgrading from D3 7.5.5 or later to 9.1, D3 must be restarted after completing the nt_upgrade process. If you are upgrading from a release prior to 9.0, you must recompile your Flash-compiled BASIC code using the (o option. The (w option can be used if the source code is not available.
