Upgrading

Complete the appropriate set of instructions below to upgrade to D3 Windows 9.1.

IMPORTANT

All FlashBASIC code must be recompiled on D3 9.1 if upgrading from a release prior to 9.0. The compile.flash.all command allows automatic recompiling of all  BASIC programs currently compiled with FlasBhASIC, either in one or all accounts on the system. If the source code is not available, the programs can be compiled from the object code using the (ow compile option. The (w option is available for both the compile command and the compile.flash.all command.

Upgrading from Version 7.5.4 or Earlier

Review the following important information before upgrading to D3 Windows 9.1 from version 7.x.

WARNING

  • You should always perform a file-save and verify it before upgrading any D3 product.

  • Starting with version 9.0, D3 Windows is now installed to the C:\Program Files\TigerLogic\D3\ directory.

Complete these general steps to upgrade to D3 Windows 9.1:

  1. Perform a file-save and verify it.

  2. Stop any applications using D3.

  3. Shut down D3.

  4. Uninstall D3 using the Remove All option. See Uninstalling D3 Windows for instructions.

  5. Ensure a Rocket certified version of Windows is installed before installing D3 Windows Server. See the Rocket Web site for more information:

  1. Install D3 Windows using the instructions in Installing D3 Windows.

NOTE

Administrative rights are required for installing D3 Windows. If the user performing an install does not have admin rights, they will be prompted for a valid user name and password with administrative rights.

  1. Perform a restore-accounts to restore your data accounts and then perform an update-md against each account that you restored.

Upgrading from Version 7.5.5 or Later

Review the following important information before upgrading to D3 Windows 9.1 from version 7.5.5 or later.

WARNING

  • You should always perform a file-save and verify it before upgrading any D3 product.

  • Starting with version 9.0, D3 Windows is now installed to the C:\Program Files\TigerLogic\D3\ directory.

Complete these general steps to upgrade to D3 Windows 9.1:

  1. Perform a file-save and verify it.

  2. Stop any applications using D3.

  3. Shut down D3.
