The logon-timeout command updates and displays the global and local logon timeout values. The global timeout value is a default value for the D3 server and the local timeout value is used to override the global value on a specified process. By default, processes are initialized to use the global logon timeout value.

| timeout | Specifies the timeout scheme
to employ or disables the logon-timeout feature. When a timeout value is specified, either the global or local timeout value is updated as follows:
When no timeout value is specified, the current logon timeout value displays as follows:

| off | Disables the logon timeout (-1). When disabled, a telnet or COM port process will wait at logon indefinitely and not disconnect. | |
| sys | Sets the logon timeout for the specified process back to the default (global) timeout value (0). This only applies when the l (Process Mode) option is specified. | |
| n | Specifies the amount of time (in deciseconds) that telnet and COM port processes will wait before disconnecting while at logon on a D3 server. The maximum value allowed in 32,767 deciseconds (or 54 minutes, 36 seconds). | |
| options | Options are as follows: | |
| l | Process Mode. Displays or updates the timeout value associated
to the current process (if no process number is specified) or the
specified process number. If this mode is not specified, then operations are performed on the global logon timeout value. In this case, any process number specified will be disregarded. |

| q | Quiet Mode. Warning messages will not display when setting a timeout value. | |
| n | Process Number. Specifies the process number on which the display or update operation will be performed (Process Mode Only). | |
The values returned when querying the logon timeout values are as follows:
Zero (0) indicates that the Logon timeout feature is disabled.
Any value greater that zero (0) indicates the currently set logon timeout (in deciseconds).
