Configuring the primary server

In order to run Hot Backup, the primary server must be defined. The fsihotbackup utility is used for this purpose and can be run from the dm or another account.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the dm account.
  2. Run Hot Backup. Enter:
    fsihotbackup
    

    The Server Type Selection menu displays.

  3. Select the Primary option or press ENTER to begin the server configuration.

    The Configuring primary server utility displays.

  4. Enter the appropriate value for the Modulo field.

    Modulo for the primary server's Queue file. The default is 1009. Note that the modulo can only be set during the initial Primary Server configuration. If you need to change the modulo subsequent to Primary Server configuration, use the nt_resize utility. More information on this command can be found in the Windows Specific Commands section of the D3 Reference Manual.

  5. Type Y to confirm your changes.
    Tip: You can also type N to return to the above menu to make additional changes, or Q to quit without saving your changes.

    The primary server is configured.
