Installing the D3 component

Complete these instructions to install the D3 component.

1. Telnet to the localhost.
2. Log on to the D3 server as user dm, account dm.
3. Create a new pseudo-floppy tape device that refers to the file mqs.d3. Use the following syntax:

   dev-make -t tape -a "Z:\path\mqs.d3,p"

   where path is the Full path to the file’s location and Z is the letter of the drive being used.

   For example:

   dev-make -t tape -a "c:\Program Files\D3\MQSeries\mqs.d3,p"

4. Type set-device.
5. Enter the number (#) of the device to be selected.
6. Type t-rew to rewind the tape.
   Note: If you are upgrading, delete the existing MQSeries account.
7. Type account-restore MQSeries (f2000 to restore the MQSeries account in the VME.
8. Press ENTER when the account name on tape message displays.
9. Press N, and then ENTER when the Incremental Save and Transaction Log messages display.
10. Type update-md MQSeries to update the Master Dictionary for your new MQSeries account.
11. Press ENTER when the prompt Create user-ID from each account name displays.
12. Press ENTER when the prompt Enter md file name displays.
    Note: D3 must be already activated.
13. Log on to the new MQSeries account.

    The account sets up and compiles.
