Executing selective restores from the dm account

You can selectively restore various files and items from the dm account.

About this task

The following files and items can be selectively restored from the dm account, although they usually are not modified.

  • fonts file
  • iomap-file file
  • kb.pc file
  • kb.fk file
  • messages seq items
  • messages legend items
  • newac file
  • PIBs file (may contain location names and term-type information)

SQL

When upgrading with a file-save tape, if any table definitions are restored into the sql,tables, file execute the following commands from the SQL account.

sel-restore dict tables catalog_map (o
sql-upgrade-table *

Completing the selective restores

After you have finished restoring files and items selectively, rewind and detach the tape.

Procedure

  1. If the tape has not been removed, rewind the tape and detach the device.
  2. Enter: 
    t-rew
t-det
  3. Remove the file-save tape from the device.

    The D3 files have been loaded, and the user files and accounts have been restored.
