Updating BlueZone files

The Web-to-Host Control Module or Web Start controls the updating of BlueZone files on the user's machine. A scheme to assign a version number is used to keep track of all files that have been downloaded. When new files are placed on the web server, the Web-to-Host Control Module or Web Start detects this and downloads the new files to the user's machine.

In addition, when using BlueZone Web-to-Host in the served desktop mode, the BlueZone Session Manager has the ability to receive BlueZone updates automatically from the BlueZone Web-to-Host web server, without user intervention.

  • Web-to-Host Control Module security
    Though no reports of any security exposures have arisen, Rocket Software has taken a proactive approach to mitigate potential security exposures with the Web-to-Host Control Module. By following the recommendations of Microsoft and CERT, Rocket Software has developed our ActiveX control, paying particular attention to possible software defects we have identified, including buffer overruns, that could result in security problems.
