BlueZone Web-to-Host provides several methods for the downloading and launching of BlueZone emulation sessions.
BlueZoneWeb-to-Host Control Module (ActiveX) Method
The
BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module, which is an ActiveX Control, is supported only by Microsoft Internet Explorer. The control is automatically downloaded and installed in the user's browser. The
Web-to-Host Control Module controls downloading and updating
BlueZone files from the web server to the user's machine.
- Alternative ActiveX Control installation methods
- If your users are not allowed to install ActiveX controls, use an alternative installation method:
- Have an administrator use the MSI installer to install the ActilveX control for the users
- Use a push technology, such as SMS, to install the MSI installer
- Advantages of ActiveX deployment
- With ActiveX deployment, your users have the option to:
- Use Embedded Mode
- Automatically close the web page after session launch
- Allow the Windows security for the ActiveX control and BlueZone sessions to run the first time they launch a session, and launch all subsequent sessions without user intervention.
Java Web Start Method
The Java Web Start method is supported by virtually all browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer, and other popular Internet browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The Java Web Start method requires that the user have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. Java Web Start controls the downloading and updating of the BlueZone files from the web server to the user's machine.
BlueZone Web Start Method
The BlueZone Web Start method is supported by virtually all browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer and other popular Internet browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. The BlueZone Web Start method requires that the user have Open Web Launch installed. BlueZone Web Start controls the downloading and updating of the BlueZone files from the web server to the user's machine.
