Manually installing the Software Activation File

During the BlueZone Web-to-Host installation, you can install the Software Activation File (SAF). However, if you did not have an SAF when you performed the installation, you must manually install it.

Note: This procedure applies to both Evaluations and Licensed BlueZone Web-to-Host installations.
By default, BlueZone is shipped with a placeholder SAF. This file is called seagull.saf and is about 1KB. The purpose of the placeholder SAF is so that if you do not have a SAF at the time of installation, you do not get a download error that BlueZone Web-to-Host could not download the SAF. Instead, you get a message that the you need a valid SAF in order for BlueZone to operate properly.
Note: If you did not install a SAF during the Web-to-Host Wizard installation, can still use the Web-to-Host Wizard to create sites, launch folders, and BlueZone sessions. These BlueZone sessions can open but cannot connect to a host without a valid SAF.
  1. Locate your Software Activation File (SAF), which was sent as an email attachment to you, or the person who ordered BlueZone. This email would have been sent from BlueZone Software Activation. The name of the file will probably be seagull.saf. The size of the SAF is about 3KB.
Note: Because of future products, it is possible that your SAF may have a different name.

If you cannot locate your software activation file, send an email to OrderAdmin-US@rocketsoftware.com with your name, company, and phone number.

  2. On the computer or web server where the BlueZone Web-to-Host Wizard is installed, navigate to the following location:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\BlueZone Web-to-Host\6.2
  3. Copy the new SAF over the existing SAF.
From this point on, any new site that you create using the BlueZone Web-to-Host Wizard will use the new SAF. Any existing sites that you created before you updated the SAF will still have the old SAF. If this is the case, use the following procedure to update your existing sites:
  1. On the web server where BlueZone Web-to-Host is installed, locate the site folders that you created with the Web-to-Host Wizard. You should have created at least one site. For example:

    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MySite

  2. Copy the new SAF over the existing SAF which you will find at the root of each site folder. Repeat this process for every site folder on your web server.

The new Software Activation File will be automatically downloaded to your users.
