The BlueZone license provides for the deployment of the
BlueZone terminal emulation and file transfer suite as a desktop or
web-based application. Deployment of either or both types simultaneously
is permitted and done at the discretion of the licensee.
To allow BlueZone Web-to-Host to run on Windows Vista,
Windows 7, or Windows 8 with User Account Control (UAC) and Protected
Mode enabled for the Internet and Intranet zones, and still have access
to all of the features and functionality that are needed to replace
a fat client emulator, you may need to perform some of the following
tasks:
Add the BlueZone servers
to the Trusted Site list in Internet Explorer 8
Allow the BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module to
download and run on user’s systems
Configure the Trusted Publishers and ActiveX permissions
Some of these options may already be configured but it
is recommended that you ensure that they are set.
- Add the BlueZone servers to the Trusted Site list in Internet
Explorer:
- Click and select the Security tab.
- In the zone pane, select Trusted Sites.
- Click Sites.
- Add the DNS name of the BlueZone server.
Note: IP addresses are not accepted in the Trusted Sites list.
- Ensure that protected mode is disabled for trusted sites.
- If the BlueZone site will be accessed using HTTPS, select
the Require server verification (https:) for all sites
in this zone check box.
- Click Close.
Internet Explorer Administrative templates and Group Policy
can be used to add sites to the trusted list automatically.
- Allow the BlueZone Web-to-Host control to download and
run on users’ systems:
- In the Internet Options window, select the Content tab.
- Click Certificates.
- Click the Trusted Publishers tab.
- Click Import.
A wizard opens and guides you through this process.
- Click Next.
- Click Browse.
- Navigate to the BlueZone Web-to-Host installation directory
and open the certificate-chain folder.
- Select Thawte Code Signing CA - G2.cer and
click Open.
- Click Next.
- Accept the defaults in the remaining windows and click Finish.
- Repeat steps d.- j. and add the thawte Primary
Root CA.cer file.
- Configure the Trusted Publishers and ActiveX permissions:
- In the Internet Options window, select the Security tab.
- In the zone pane, select Trusted Sites.
- Click Custom Level.
- In the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section,
set Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins to Administrator
approved.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to close the Internet
Options window.
