Use the eZClear utility
Now that you have successfully created and launched a BlueZone session using the Web-to-Host Wizard, this is a good time to be introduced to the eZClear utility. eZClear is a small Windows executable program that does not require installation. It is launched by double clicking the file itself.
The purpose of eZClear is to aid the BlueZone Web-to-Host administrator when BlueZone configurations are first being tested and deployed. eZClear provides an easy way for the BlueZone administrator to quickly erase all the BlueZone Web-to-Host files from a user's test machine.
The eZClear utility can be downloaded by clicking the Get or run eZClear link located near the bottom of any launch page. It also can be found in the BlueZone CD image in the BlueZone Web-to-Host folder.
During the initial testing phase of BlueZone Web-to-Host, you may need to modify your BlueZone configuration files many times. We suggest that you download eZClear to your test user workstations so that you can test these modifications and changes.
Important
Remember, the BlueZone Web-to-Host control module will not allow the overwriting of the main BlueZone configuration file. So, if you download BlueZone Web-to-Host to a user test machine, then go back to the Wizard and make a configuration change to BlueZone, the next time you "run" BlueZone Web-to-Host, the changes will not appear. This is normal. To test your configuration changes, download and run eZClear on the user test machine to remove BlueZone first, then "run" BlueZone Web-to-Host to verify your changes.
Running eZClear
When the eZClear Utility is launched, you will be presented with three options as shown here:
Image
As shown above, the eZClear user interface consists of a Yes button to run the utility, and three check boxes that control the behavior of eZClear.
If eZClear is run without selecting any options, the BlueZone Web-to-Host control module (ActiveX) and the BlueZone Program Files will be deleted from the user's machine.
If eZClear is run with the first option selected, the BlueZone Web-to-Host control module (ActiveX), the BlueZone Program Files and in addition, the user's BlueZone working files will be deleted from their machine.
If eZClear is run with the second option selected, the browser cache will be deleted. Use this option to ensure that the latest version of the Web-to-Host launch page is downloaded during the next downloading of BlueZone Web-to-Host.
Note
When running eZClear with option two selected, you may notice a long delay for eZClear to complete this task. The long delay is caused by the size of the cache which can get very large if it hasn't been deleted for a long period of time.
The third option, Uninstall BlueZone Served Desktop, is only used to remove BlueZone files when you have deployed BlueZone in the served desktop mode. If you are using BlueZone in the standard Web-to-Host mode, do not select this check box.
