Connecting to and modifying your ActiveX printer control
When the ActiveX Printer control is open, you can use the toolbar and the shortcut menu to perform some administrative tasks on the Printer session. The shortcut menu and the toolbar allow you to control the session properties, the connection to the Server and to the AS/400, and set options for the page and printer setup.
The toolbar appears near the top of the printer window. You can access the shortcut menu by right-clicking on the Printer control.
To learn how to use the toolbar and the shortcut menu, follow these steps:
1. Click the Sign on button to sign on to the Server. You can also right-click the Printer control and select Connect from the Session sub-menu.
This button and the shortcut command are dimmed when the Printer control is connected to the host.
2. Before changing your password, you must not be connected to the AS/400. If you aren't allowed to change your password, the Change Password button and the Change Password command will be disabled. To change your password:
a. If you had a password, enter it in the Old Password field.
b. Type your new password in the New Password field.
c. Retype your password in the Confirm Password field.
d. Click OK.
Password changes take effect immediately; therefore, you must use the new password the next time you sign on to the Server.
3. Click the Connect/Disconnect button to connect or disconnect the current session to or from the host. This button also serves as a connection indicator for the current session. You can also right-click the Printer control and select Connect/Disconnect from the Session sub-menu.
4. Click the About button or select About from the Help menu to view information on the client operation system, the version of the ActiveX Printer control and the Server it is connected to, the build date, and the emulation type. You can also right-click the Printer control and select About from the Help sub-menu.
5. The Data Encrypted button on appears on the ActiveX Printer toolbar when this option is enabled in the Cluster properties.
You cannot toggle it off from the ActiveX Printer window.
