Copying a HostFront database to a new server
Follow the steps below to copy a HostFront database to a new server with a different IP address.
1. Install BlueZone Access Server on the new machine. If it is not already installed, install MSSQL express when prompted by BlueZone Access Server.
2. Save the database from the old machine (.bak file by default).
3. Restore this database to the new machine.
You may need to remove the license key from the old server because only one license key is allowed to be used in one server on the network. For testing purposes, you can turn off the old server.
4. Launch Host Access Manager on the new machine.
5. When the Wizard starts, click Cancel. You want to use old database.
6. Click File Connect to cluster.
The Connect to Cluster dialog opens.
7. Select the newly restored database and type the logon information. Click OK.
8. Type the Host Access Manager sign on information.
After a few minutes, an error message appears stating Some services could not be reached. Please verify network. This is normal because the database has the IP address of old machine and Host Access Manager is trying to connect to it.
9. Click OK.
10. In the right panel, in the Servers node, remove the defined servers (with old IP address).
11. In the Cluster services node, remove the defined Cluster services.
12. Add the new server:
a. Right-click the Servers node and select New Server.
b. Type the new server’s information.
c. Check the Add a cluster service on the same machine check box.
d. Click OK.
If you do not check the Add a cluster service on the same machine check box, you must go to the Cluster services node and add the Cluster services.
Refer to Adding a server for more information.
