LU/Device Overview

The LU, Device, Answerback feature is used to configure LU's, Devices, and or Answerbacks, so that they can then be allocated to specific End Users.

This is an optional feature, and may be ignored if there is no reason to associate specific LU's, Devices, and or Answerbacks to specific End User sessions.

How the LU / Device Name / Answerback Feature Works

When you input an LU, Device or Answerback into the Web Manager application, you are adding that item into a database.  This database is cross referenced with the User database that gets created when you add Users.  Once the LU, Device or Answerback is created, you can add the particular item to a session that is associated with a specific User.  By doing this, you are creating a relational database that is then used by Web Manager to create the necessary configuration for the End User.

What Happens Next?

When an End User launches a session that has a specific LU, Device or Answerback associated with it, Web Manager will automatically add the item to the End User's configuration as it is being launched.  This is possible because Web Manager creates an Object Tag "on-the-fly" for each End User.  There is no need to create a custom configuration for each of your End Users.
