BlueZone Web-to-Host |
The BlueZone CD-ROM or downloaded BlueZone CD image, that you have been provided, contains the entire BlueZone Family of Emulation Products including the files necessary to install the BlueZone Web-to-Host Wizard. All BlueZone Web-to-Host files are located in the BlueZone Web-to-Host folder located on the BlueZone CD or image.
IMPORTANT! If you are upgrading an existing installation of BlueZone Web-to-Host, please read the Importing and Upgrading section before attempting to install a new version BlueZone Web-to-Host.
There are two different approaches that can be used for the evaluation and then installation of your production environment.
Install the Web-to-Host Wizard on the same physical platform that is also running your web server.
Install the Web-to-Host Wizard on a different physical platform than your web server.
Web-to-Host Wizard requires a Windows platform to operate. Therefore, if you want to install the Web-to-Host Wizard on the same physical platform as your web server, the web server must be a Windows server platform.
NOTE Installing the Wizard and serving BlueZone Web-to-Host form the same physical platform is the easiest way to implement BlueZone Web-to-Host.
If you prefer, you can install the Web-to-Host Wizard on any Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine, use the Wizard to create and configure your BlueZone Web-to-Host Web Server Files, then copy or transfer the BlueZone Web-to-Host Web Server Files to the web server of your choice.
NOTE The BlueZone Web-to-Host Wizard has a built-in web server that you can use to test your BlueZone Web-to-Host Web Server Files without having to transfer or copy them to the web server.
Normally in a production environment, BlueZone Web-to-Host will be served up from a "server class" web server. However, to evaluate BlueZone Web-to-Host, you do not need a web server or even a server.
In order to save you time and show you how easy it is to use BlueZone Web-to-Host, you can install the BlueZone Web-to-Host Wizard on any Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine (like your Windows desktop machine that you use every day) and use the Web-to-Host Wizard's built-in web server to "serve up" the BlueZone Web-to-Host Web Server files.
By using the Web-to-Host Wizard in conjunction with the built-in web server, you can, within a matter of minutes, install, configure and start serving up BlueZone emulation client sessions.
NOTE It is also possible to install the BlueZone Web-to-Host Wizard on a Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional machine with the IIS web server feature enabled. This is also a good platform to use for evaluating BlueZone Web-to-Host.
When it comes time to convert from your evaluation installation to a production installation, the BlueZone Web-to-Host Web Server Files can continue to be created and configured using the Web-to-Host Wizard you already have installed and running on your Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine. The difference will be that the "output" of the Wizard (the BlueZone Web-to-Host Web Server Files) will now be copied or transferred to your production web server.
Or, if it turns out that your production web server will be a Microsoft server, you can install the Web-to-Host Wizard on the new server and use the Wizard's "Import" feature to import the BlueZone Web-to-Host Web Server Files, that you created on your Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine, during the evaluation period.
