Security Server Installation
The upgrade procedure for versions 4.2 and higher is very simple. The upgrade is handled by the Installation Wizard. The Wizard will determine if you have a minimum of version 4.2 installed. If you do, it will automatically switch to the "upgrade" mode.
NOTE
If your
previous installation of BlueZone Security Server had FIPS
Mode Support
enabled, or if you wish for your upgraded version of BlueZone Security
Server to have FIPS Mode Support enabled, you must change an entry in
the SETUP.INI file. You
should read Installation Options,
before performing the upgrade.
It is recommended that you save your current BlueZone Security Server configuration to a file. This is a precaution just in case there is a problem with the upgrade.
Close the BlueZone Security Server Manager (mandatory) and stop the BlueZone Security Server Service (please read the following note first).
NOTE
It is possible
to perform the Security Server upgrade while the Security Server Service
(not the manager) is running. Using
this method allows you to perform the upgrade now without interrupting
your End User's. The
new version of Security Server will not take effect until the server is
restarted.
Insert the BlueZone CD-ROM into your CD drive. An Auto-run program will launch and you will be presented with the Welcome to BlueZone "Splash" screen.
Click on the Server Components link.
Click on the BlueZone Security Server link.
You will immediately receive the following message:
Click the Yes button to continue.
When the Resuming InstallShield for BlueZone Security Server dialog appears, click the Next button.
The InstallShield Wizard will now perform the upgrade.
When the installation is complete, click the Finish button.
You may or may not receive a system restart message. If you do, you can restart now, or wait until it is convenient to do so. Keep in mind that if you do receive a restart message, the upgraded version of Security Server will not take effect until after the restart occurs.
The upgraded version of BlueZone Security Server when launched, will automatically use the configuration and licensing information from the previous version.
Congratulations! You have just upgraded your version of BlueZone Security Server.
