Using the SEAGULL License Manager

Accessing the SEAGULL License Manager through a Firewall or Proxy Sever

The SEAGULL License Manager allows the unlimited distribution of BlueZone emulation clients, making it ideal for public Internet use.  When using BlueZone clients connect to hosts over the Internet, the SEAGULL License Manager and the BlueZone client must be able to communicate, even when Firewalls or Proxy Servers are in place.  This communication takes place over TCP/IP port 8421.

NOTE  The TCP port used by the SEAGULL License Manager can be changed to another port such as port 80.

SEE License Manager Options for help with changing the Listening Port.

These settings must be configured in the firewall or proxy server to allow the packets to be exchanged between BlueZone and the SEAGULL License Manager.  If this configuration is not in place, BlueZone clients will get an "unable to license" error.
