Unistalling OpenDB

Complete the instructions below to uninstall OpenDB.

Procedure

  1. Go to the command prompt.
  2. Change the directory to the location where OpenDB (OpenDB.exe) is installed. For example:
    cd c:\program files\rocketsoftware\d3\d3programs
  3. Type OpenDB.exe /remove

    If OpenDB has been successfully removed, this message displays:

    OpenDB removed. Removed Service.

Troubleshooting Uninstall Errors

If an error occurs while attempting to uninstall OpenDB, this message displays:

Failed to remove. Error (#).

Depending on the Windows operating system running on your computer, there are different types of uninstall errors that can occur. These uninstall errors are described in the table below.

Error (#) Description Try This
-1 Unable to remove service.
  • Use the Task Manager to verify that OpenDB is not running. If OpenDB is running, follow the instructions in Stopping from Windows services to stop the Server, then repeat the uninstall.

  • Check that OpenDB was not already uninstalled by locating its key in the Services folder in the registry. If unable to locate the OpenDB key in the registry, then the service was already uninstalled.

-2 Unable to establish a connection to the Service Control Manager.
  • Check that you have administrator privileges.

  • Restart the computer.
