Setting up an ODBC data source

Follow these steps to set up an ODBC Data Source.

1. Select ODBC Data Sources from the Administrative Tools window.

   The ODBC Data Source Administration dialog box displays.

   
2. Click Add.

   The Create New Data Source dialog box displays.

   
3. Select the driver MySQL ODBC Driver, and then click Finish.

   The Connector/ODBC - Add Data Source Name dialog box displays.

   
4. Type the following:

   • Name of the data source

   • Description of the data source

   • Server Name

   • User ID

   • Password

5. Select the appropriate database from the Database drop-down.
6. Click OK.

   The ODBC MySQL setup is complete.
