Creating an OSFI host data source

For Microsoft Access, use these steps to create an OSFI host data source called msaccess.nw.

Procedure

  1. Type u dm,hosts, msaccess.nw at the TCL prompt.
  2. Type 08 in attribute 1.
    Note: Pressing CTRL+V enters a new value mark. To move to the next attribute, press ENTER.
  3. Type a machine name in attribute 2, and then press CTRL+V. For example:
    server1
  4. Type the TCP/IP port number, and then press CTRL+V (twice). For example:
    3458
  5. Type a transmit-timeout, and then press ENTER. For example:
    30
  6. Type a ODBC DSN in attribute 3, and then press CTRL+XF to save to file. For example:
    dsn=Northwind;

    The OSFI host data source msaccess.nw displays.
