Creating an OSFI host data source

Follow these steps to create an OSFI host data source called sqlsvr.host using the Update Processor.

1. Type u dm,hosts, sqlsvr.host at the TCL prompt.
2. Type 08 in attribute 1.
   Note: Pressing CTRL+V enters a new value mark. To move to the next line attribute, press ENTER.
3. Type a machine name in attribute 2, and then press CTRL+V. For example:

   123.4.5.6

4. Type the TCP/IP port number, and then press CTRL+V. For example:

   3458

5. Type a transmit-timeout, and then press ENTER. For example:

   30

6. Type the ODBC DSN in attribute 3, and then press CTRL+XF to save to file. For example:

   dsn=sqlsvrdsn;uid=sa;database=northwind;

   The OSFI host data source sqlsvrdsn displays.
