You can install the MVS Server on either the Windows or Linux platforms.
Operating System
To install MVS, your computer must be equipped with the following:
MVS Toolkit components
are supported on these operating systems:
MVS Toolkit IDE
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019.
- Windows 10 Pro with the latest service pack (64-bit systems).
Important: As of MVS Toolkit version 2.1, the MVS Toolkit IDE is no longer supported
for Linux implementations.
MVS Web Service Provider
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019.
- Windows 10 Pro with the latest service pack (64-bit systems).
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Cent OS 7.x or later (64-bit systems).
Supported Databases
MVS provides the ability
to create web services for D3 and mvBase databases.
Creating
Web Services
- D3 9.0 or higher
- mvBase 3.0 or higher
Connection Pooling
- D3 AIX 9.1.1 or higher
- D3 Linux 9.2 with patch M9 or higher
- D3 Windows 9.2.1 or higher
- mvBase: Connection pooling is not supported
Note: The new connection pooling feature requires that you activate
your connection pool licenses. Otherwise, connection pooling will
not be enabled.

The required MVSP version will vary depending on your MVS Toolkit and D3 Database versions.

Hardware
- Intel Pentium-class single or multiple processor.
- 512 MB RAM to install the MVS Server.
- 310 MB hard disk space for the MVS Server.
Software
- The MVSP Server must be installed, configured, and running on the same machine that hosts the D3
or mvBase database.

The minimum MVSP version is 1.8.17.
However, it is recommended that you download and install the latest MVSP patch from the Rocket Customer Portal.
- Subroutines must be Flash-compiled if they are to be called as a web service when running on any
version of D3.
