SET-DATE Command

The SET-DATE command sets or changes the current system date. Enter the date in either of these two formats:

Format

SET-DATE day month [year]

SET-DATE month /day [/year]

Parameter(s)

day

Numeric day of the month.

month

Can be either a three-letter abbreviation or a two-digit number; for example, enter October as either OCT or 10.

year

Two-digit abbreviation for the year. If you do not enter the year, the currently displayed year is used.

Description

If you use the first format, separate the day, month, and year with spaces. If you use the second format, separate the month, day, and year with slashes (/).

NOTE

If you enter SET-DATE without a date, the system date is set back to 0 (i.e., 31 DEC 1967).

To display the currently set time and date, use the TIME command.

The system date is set when the system is initially started up. Whenever the COLD-START Proc is run, you are prompted to reset the time and the date if necessary.
