MOVE-FILE Command

MOVE-FILE may be used to rename the file as it is being transferred between accounts. MOVE-FILE sets all group update flags to allow INCR-SAVE to be used correctly.

Format

MOVE-FILE old-filename

TO: destination account [new-filename]

Description

If a file can not be transferred between accounts, the function will not be performed and one of the following messages is displayed:

DATA LEVEL DESCRIPTOR (FILE-NAME IN DICTIONARY) IS MISSING

[201]

old-filename IS NOT A FILE NAME

[413]

FILE NAME ALREADY EXISTS IN THE MASTER DICTIONARY

[426]

DATA FILE ALREADY EXISTS!

[434]

ITEM ALREADY EXISTS IN DICTIONARY

[440]

Illegal use of option or parameter

[441]

destination account IS NOT AN ACCOUNT NAME
