IDATE Command

The IDATE command sets the system date format to the international standard.

Format

IDATE

Description

The international date format is DAY/MONTH/YEAR. Thus the date December 23, 1993, would appear as 23/12/93.

The operating system retains this format until you reset it to United States standard. Since IDATE requires no special system privilege level, you can copy this command from the SYSPROG account to application accounts if needed.

The operating system is set for United States standard format, which is MONTH/DAY/YEAR. International users may want to add the IDATE command to the COLD-START Proc before the time and date inputs. This will ensure that the system is set to the international standard each time the system is rebooted.

To reset the system date format from international standard to United States standard, use the UDATE command.
