The DE command calls up the specified file item for editing with the Full Screen Editor, DocuMentor.

Editing an Item with the Screen Editor
In the following example, the command statement calls up item BLEAR34TRE from the CUSTOMERS file for editing:

The item is displayed on the screen. Line numbers are also displayed because the L option was used:
