Description
The administrator can use the CONSOLE-ON command to display alert messages at a terminal other than the one that is normally the system console. A printer can also be designated as the system console, making it possible to get a hard copy of administrative messages. Only one process can be used as the console at any one time. You can use CONSOLE-ON regardless of whether the system console is logged on or is running any specific program.
Alert messages from these processors are sent to the system console:
Logon processor, including all LOGONs, LOGOFFs, and LOGTOs.
Security log processor, including every security violation.
Security console enabling and disabling, any time the state of the security console is changed.
The process designated as the system console is not affected by the MAXUSERS command.
