:INIT-TAPE Command

The :INIT-TAPE command resets all logical tape units or floppy disk drives to their default assignments given at coldstart, and it clears all tape buffers.

:INIT-TAPE

Description

:INIT-TAPE is used to manually reset the internal status of backup media if a power failure occurs during operation.

If a backup medium is attached to a process when the :INIT-TAPE command is issued, the command will not affect that process or backup medium and this message displays:

DEVICE ATTACHED TO USER n

where n is the number of the attached process.
